WebD is going Green!
Here are some things Web Application Development has done to be more green:
- Running virtualization software allowed us to recycle/surplus a computer per person
- Every member of WebD uses tumbler coffee mugs and Nalgene water bottles
- We procure PDF books rather than printed materials when possible
- We shutdown our computers at night
- Use desk fans to create ‘micro-climates’ to suite each workers comfort
- 50% of our department carpools at least three times a week
- We encourage dressing comfortably in layers to avoid the use of supplemental heating
- 80% of our batteries are rechargeable
- Use recycled paper for printed materials
